SUMMARY:Sunday\, June 30th: Ezra 3
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday we will be walking through Ezra 3. Imagine for a minute the scene that is described in Ezra 3. Thousands of men have gathered to rebuild the foundation of the temple and construct an altar to the Lord. After the foundation has been laid and the alter built\, the priests come in their priestly garments with trumpets. The Levites and the sons of Asaph\, come with cymbals\, to praise the Lord\, according to the directions of king David. The priests\, Levites\, and song leaders lead the people as they sing responsively Psalm 136: “Give thanks to the Lord for he is good\, for his steadfast love endures forever”. And all the people shout with a great shout as they praise the Lord\, because the foundation of the house of the Lord has been laid (Ezra 3:10-11). \nWe encourage everyone to read Ezra 3 in preparation for Sunday. Each week we also provide study questions for those interested in doing a deeper dive into the preaching text. \nThe children will be participating in service again this week! At the beginning of service\, we will invite children who participated in VBS to join us on stage to sing one of the songs\, “Today is the Day.” The other songs that we will sing Sunday are listed below:\n\nI Will Sing of My Redeemer (Selah)\nWorthy Worthy\nI Surrender All\nGoodness of God

DESCRIPTION:This Sunday we will be in John 17 looking at what is known as Jesus’ high priestly prayer.  With the cross and death before him\, Jesus bares his heart to his disciples and gives us access to know his heart and his thoughts. It is no wonder that many pastors and Bible commentators refer to John 17 as being the doorway to the “Holy of Holies”. The Scottish reformer\, John Knox\, asked that this chapter be read to him every day in the days leading to his death and during his final moments on earth. Thomas Manton\, chaplain to the English politician Oliver Cromwell\, preached forty-five sermons on it. And Marcus Rainsford\, an Irish pastor\, wrote a commentary of over 500 pages on just John 17! SUMMARY:Week of February 25th: Women's Spring Bible Studies
DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to gathering again to study God’s Word in the spring 2024 season! We will study the second part of 1 Corinthians\, chapters 10-16. There is no need to have studied 1 Corinthians in the fall to participate this spring. All are welcome! The 9-week study is expected to run from approximately February 25th – April 28th. \nPlease register here. You can pick up your book anytime during the church office hours Monday – Thursday\, 9:00 – 4:00 PM\, or in the Next Steps area after Sunday services. It will also be available at the first Bible study gathering\, if you aren’t able to pick it up prior. If you have any questions\, please contact the Women’s Ministry at women@obf.org.
